We're just beginning to move into our new site - please bear with us as we make changes, hang the curtains, re-arrange the furniture.

Planning on attending our Twentieth Anniversary Celebration in 2008?

Of course you are! So you need to know that thisPhoto by Sammi Shaw year, we're running the festival from Thursday to Saturday, with the big free festival in the park on Saturday, August 23! We're pretty excited about this change, as it gives everyone a Sunday morning to sleep in. I know our volunteers are looking forward to it!

Our Twentieth Anniversary festival features all the elements you've come to know and love over the years, some special surprises, familiar faces and great new sounds. Mark it on your calendar, and get ready to celebrate!

The PFF is an entirely volunteer-run organization, and we couldn't do a thing without the 200 volunteers who Photo by Brendon Mrozhelp us out every year. Over at Festival Command we're coming up with bigger and better projects, and lots of terrific ways to get involved.

Who We Are

Welcome to the Peterborough Folk Festival! We're a three-day festival in the heart of the beautiful city of Peterborough, Ontario - next year Thursday August 21- Saturday August 23, 2008 (that's right - we're moving the festival forward one day!). With lots of music, workshops, food and craft vendors, we're certain that Lovely poster by B Mroz!you'll love our festival as much as we do!

Some Quick Festival Facts:

- The PFF is a 3-day music, food, craft and community festival which began in 1988.
- The festival annually draws approximately 8,000-9,000 people over three days, and features terrific undiscovered talent from across the country and the street.
- Festival features on Saturday in Nichol's Oval/Rotary Park include Arts and Craft vendors, Food vendors, a Children's Area, demonstrations, workshops (including Yoga, dance, and songwriting), and a Community Village.
- PFF is a non-profit incorporated organization funded by The City of Peterborough, the Arts Presentation Canada program, the Lloyd Carr-Harris Foundation, The Peterborough Arts Umbrella, Big Rock Brewery, and many local sponsors.
- Musicians are booked in a very competitive process with over 1000 submissions, and chosen by the Artistic Director in consultation with community and Board members.

Our submissions are now open for PFF 2009.  The deadline for application is FebrSubmit your EPK today!uary 28, 2009, and there are two ways to apply:  via snail mail or Sonicbids.  To apply through Sonicbids, please click the logo, which will take you to our  online Drop Box.
